It does not seem like it is possible to be happy and alone at the same time. But not really, for there is a difference between being alone and being lonely.
When you are alone, you enjoy the solitude and feel at peace. You feel greater freedoms to be who you are.
Even if you have never been alone before, you will start to enjoy it very much. No one bothers you about paying the bills or pesters you about completing assignments.
Loneliness and solitude are two states of mind that you want to distinguish. If you are alone rather than lonely, then why bother whining about it? Be glad that you are alone. Now you can focus on the activities that please you the most. Make a list of all your favorite hobbies and go down the list. Start with the activities that do not require any kind of partnership.
Create a weekly meal plan with all of your favorite foods. Include the foods that you have always wanted to try but didn’t because you feared what people would think.
Now, you do not have to be concerned about people’s opinions. You can watch TV around the clock or listen to the radio as loudly as you want. There are no limits to what you can do in your own domain.
