How to come down from weed

I only recently started taking medical marijuana. Had this really bad knee pain from a fall that over the counter painkillers can’t calm down. My GP offered me to try medical marijuana so I give it a try. I’m still not used to it; as much as it cuts the pain, it also makes me extremely paranoid and hungry. Is there a way to come down from the high? And how to come down from weed exactly?

Let’s hope you are really using the weed for medical reasons here. Then again, there isn’t really any lasting harm from smoking weed. It’s practically impossible to overdose on one, but very possible to get too high. Taking too much often leads to the dizziness, nausea and panic attacks, so you might want to get that dosage in check to start with.

With that said, taking a cold shower is one of the best ways to come down quickly. In theory, by running yourself under ice cold water, the blood would rush to the vital organs and wakes you up. In practice, often the cold itself is enough to numb yourself from the paranoia. This is the same method smokers and druggies used when going “cold turkey” (although weed itself is not addictive), but it does work wonders to calm yourself down.

Just to go sleep. Just lie down on the bed or sofa. Sleep is the best cure for everything. Even if you can’t fall asleep, then just lie down and maybe listen to some music. Read a book maybe. In fact, medical marijuana should help you go to sleep easily, since it is supposed to calm you down. Take a nap, let your body do all the work and you’ll wake up feeling all refreshed and completely sober.

Dude, how can you fall asleep when you are high?? Your answer doesn't help on how to come down from weed at all ;/

Ummm, how to come down from weed? What I usually do is to just go out to for some fresh air. It really helps your body to relax. Just open the windows or doors, maybe walk around outside if you think you can manage. Your body just wants and needs that fresh oxygen so it could feel better. Breathe in and out to slowly. Then grab some water and hydrate yourself. While you are feeling high, you might forget to drink so it's critical to continuously drink. Only drink plain water, do not drink alcohol or soft drinks that might instead dehydrate your body. Eating will help too, but don’t go for those junky munchies that you will crave. Go for a healthy hearty meal that fills you up. It will be better if you get up and do some light exercises, stretch, walk around the block, etc. Just get the blood pumping and take in a deep breath. Other than distracting you from that anxiety, then you’ll feel so much more invigorated after. Hope your legs heal up nicely!
