Why are national parks important?

National parks are something that I take for granted just being around, and you see signs for them all the time on road trips. With elections coming up, I’ve heard a lot of people debating about the environment and parks are something that comes up a lot. They definitely cost a lot of money for upkeep, considering there’s not a large amount of people that go to national parks regularly. At the same time, they’re so beautiful! So my question is, why are national parks important?

There are a lot of trees and plants that help stop erosion and produce fresh air. Not to mention, there are a lot of little animals that live in these parks that might not have a home elsewhere. So promoting national parks is really just promoting a healthy environment.
