Why can't I delete songs from my iPhone?

I have an iPhone 5 and the latest update on my phone was iOS 7. There’s a lot of music on my phone, but I’m running out of space and need to make extra room. Every time I try to delete songs off my iPhone nothing happens, and the delete option doesn’t even appear. Why can’t I delete songs from my iPhone and how can I fix it?

Because of a bug in iOS 7, you might have to delete songs from your iPhone, and probably all of them, through the settings. No worries though, because all of your music can be backed up through the iCloud that saves the information in Apple’s servers. First go to the settings app, click on General then Usage. After the Storage section at the top loads, find Music in the list and tap on it. Choose Edit and then the Delete option to delete all music from your phone. From here you can re-download your music from the iCloud, but they should fix the bug in the phone’s system.

Sometimes when you listen to songs from the iCloud on your phone, there isn’t an option to delete them, like the songs downloaded from iTunes, so you have to go through the settings in order to take them off.

Go to Settings, click on Music, and then toggle off Show All Music. When you go back into your Music app, you should only see the songs that you downloaded on your phone either through iCloud or through iTunes. The music that you have downloaded should delete by sliding the song, and all music that you have only listened to through iCloud running should no longer show up on your phone.
